Benefits to Staying in a Bed and Breakfast

Benefits to Staying in a Bed and Breakfast

Staying at a bed and breakfast is a wonderful alternative to the traditional hotel stay. Many B&Bs are situated in restored old homes or even mansions with period furnishings and offer a marvelous spectacle of architecture and décor that’s sure to enhance any stay. Gardens are often lush and offer comfortable seating, and rooms range from cozy to luxurious. Staying in a B&B can be a really unique travel experience and not one to be missed. Here are the benefits to staying in a bed and breakfast.

  • You can get the privacy and peace and quiet you desire. B&B tend to be more exclusive with fewer guests. They don’t often cater to families and are more popular among couples. If you’re looking for a place to spend a quiet weekend, a B&B may be your best bet.

  • You’ll get more personal service. At a B&B, there are only a handful of guests, giving you a much more personal experience. Typically, your concierge is the owner and thus is invested in making sure you have a great stay.

  • They are often located in out-of-the-way areas. Unlike hotels, B&Bs are often found off the beaten path. This provides you with a great opportunity to see less traveled parts of the community that you would otherwise miss.

  • It’s the perfect romantic getaway. In fact, B&Bs have become so popular for couples that many cater to this romantic angle, offering special romantic packages. These may include pre-planned events or excursions that are included in your stay.

  • They’re more secure. At a B&B, there are fewer people coming and going. With less going on, B&B owners tend to keep a much better eye on the hotel property than a typical hotel staff.

  • You can get a taste of the local flavour and lifestyle. B&Bs are usually established and run by locals, and tend to have their own character. Even better, B&B owners often have lots of tips concerning the best things to do and see in the local area.

  • They offer extra activities. Many B&Bs offer additional recreational activities in their regular packages. Depending on the location, you may be able to enjoy biking, hiking.

  • You’ll encounter unexpected luxuries. B&Bs tend to offer all those special extra touches that can make your stay pampering and luxurious.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BED AND BREAKFAST AND A HOTEL

kanchan athalye | Monday, November 17, 2014 | Best Blogger Tips
“What is the difference between a Bed and Breakfast and a Hotel”?

In order to point out the differences, let us first answer the question, “What is a Bed and Breakfast”?  Every Bed and Breakfast is a unique property.  There are many B&B’s that have a historical designation but others are very new and modern. No two will ever be the same.  A breakfast is typically included with the price of the room.   A Bed and Breakfast is the local, organic version of the hospitality industry.

Breakfast:  At B&B’s, a guest’s breakfast is included in the cost of the room.  At most hotels, especially the “luxury” hotels, breakfast can range from Rs. 250.00 – Rs. 350.00 per person.  At a Bed and Breakfast, most offer a gourmet breakfast that is served in a common area of the residence with the other guests.  A select few will deliver breakfast to the guest room at a time of their choosing.
Amenities:  This is what separates a Bed and Breakfast from a Hotel.  Some of the "extras" that a hotel provides, such as internet that can quickly add Rs. 200.00 to rs.300.00 to the bill at a hotel is provided free at  Bed and Breakfast.
Unique Rooms:  Hotels provide rooms that are designed to be one size fits all.  They are all similar in design and style. All of the rooms at a Bed and Breakfast are unique and no two are the same.  Most rooms are furnished with luxury linens and bedding.  Some have modern furnishings while others have high quality antiques.
Deposits & Cancelations:  Hotels usually secure a guests credit card to “hold” a room for the guest. The Hotel does not guarantee you a particular room in their inventory. They usually give the traveller up to 24 hours prior to cancel. Because a B&B is guaranteeing the guest one of their unique rooms they require a deposit, typically one night stay or fifty percent of the balance of the stay.  In return, the Inn no longer markets the room.  A cancellation can have a dramatic impact on a Bed and Breakfast.  Most B&B’s have high demand rooms and a limited inventory.   As a result, B&B’s have far more stringent cancellation policies.
clip_image001      How is it that you can get so much more at a B&B? The answer is simple:
Every B&B Is Personally Operated By An Owner Whose Goal Is To Offer You The Best Possible Experience. You’re Not Just Another Room Number — You’re A True Guest, And You’ll Never Feel More Welcome Than At A B&B.

B&B = Luxury Travel That Doesn't Break The Bank
